As a commentary website, Progressive American Politics aims to advance causes aligned with the left wing of the political spectrum. Our mission is to acknowledge and address our differences with politicians in the Democratic Party, while recognizing that voting third party is not a strategic approach unless rank-choice voting is established.
To address rising concerns with the Republican Party's trajectory, we aim to highlight the prospective dangers, undemocratic patterns, and authoritarian impulses that have emerged. Our mission is to shed light on the concerning patterns observed in certain mainstream Republican politicians, who display traits that surpass mere authoritarianism and veer into the realm of fascism.
Our mission is to advocate for a society that upholds the standards of universal, high-quality healthcare, tuition-free college, secure retirement with dignity, reduced income inequality, a living wage for all individuals, higher marginal tax rates for the wealthiest Americans, the eradication of corporate influence in politics, women's reproductive autonomy until viability, federal equal rights for the LGBTQ community, criminal justice reform, comprehensive climate change legislation, gun safety laws, robust labor protections, political equality, and other essential policy goals.
